An almost closed and introverted volume is superimposed on the garage space to generate shade and shelter, causing the entrance to the house through a semi-transparent roof supported by metal and wood beams, filtering the entry of light into the dwelling, allowing peeking outside and conversing with its surroundings.

Located in the vibrant, yet inherently tranquil seaside village of Bucerías on the Riviera Nayarit, this architectural project is conceived as a contemplative coastal refuge. It introduces a dialogue between authentic Mexican charm and a serene, soft minimalist aesthetic.

A MODERN TROPICAL RETREAT

The residence is defined by a commitment to essentialism, where clean form and texture take precedence. The architecture employs a deliberate juxtaposition: a bold, almost monolithic volume of pure white stucco serves as a canvas, sharply contrasting with the tropical light and the lush, untamed greenery. This minimal envelope creates a sense of immediate calm.

Materiality is used to infuse warmth into the structure. Vertical wood-slat screens act as a veil, filtering the intense Pacific sun into dappled light that moves throughout the day. This functional element introduces an organic texture, softening the geometry and honoring the connection to the natural elements.

Here, the boundaries between shelter and environment are intentionally blurred. The dramatic entry—framed by the simple, rigorous lines of the black-steel pergola and the enduring presence of mature palm trees—suggests a quiet transition from the street to a private sanctuary.

This home is not simply a structure; it is an environment designed for slow living. It is a harmonious space that invites reflection, where the quality of the light, the honesty of the materials, and the stillness of the design create an elevated, enduring sense of place. It is a refined address that redefines modern escapism on the Mexican coast.
