Casa "La Razón", a renovated Vallarta beach house, is home to a very warm family of six. Bernal Architecture was in charge of re-planning the home (which included the addition of 3 more rooms, a play house, a pool, and a creative studio for the younger). The interior space was designed to adapt to their lifestyle but planted in a modern renovated home realm.
This new renovation allows the family to live more generously and with a calm, yet layered space.
We seek to provide a warm experience where they can live together as a family while finding magical spaces that allow them to enjoy a time of introspection.
LA RAZÓN
The structure is intentionally grounded, finding harmony with its tropical setting through a layering of natural surfaces. Expansive volumes are enveloped in a warm, earthen-toned stucco, providing a timeless, foundational base. This solidity is elegantly broken by planes of vertical wood cladding, introducing a sense of natural movement and lightness that softens the structure's overall geometry.
The design is fundamentally concerned with the manipulation of light. Deeply recessed windows and generous overhangs are employed to manage the intense sun, ensuring the interiors are always bathed in a soft, filtered light. The resulting interplay of shadow and texture across the facade creates a continuous, evolving aesthetic experience.
