Nestled in what we like to call "the best designed building" in the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta, Apt. Almas was in need of a sophisticated and thoughtful renovation. With new owners stepping in, they aimed to create a unique experience that would truly set it apart from the cookie-cutter apartments in the area.
Every intervention was carefully considered to elevate both aesthetics and functionality while preserving the apartment's original footprint.

Designed for modern travelers seeking comfort, character, and a sense of place, this apartment is the result of a renovation focused on creating maximum impact within a fixed budget. Rather than a complete reconstruction, the project concentrated on the spaces that most influence the guest experience, transforming the home into a refined, artfully curated retreat tailored for the short-term rental market.
The interiors were completely reimagined through a cohesive color-drenched palette, finished with a Roman clay-inspired texture that wraps walls and ceilings in warm, natural tones. This unified backdrop creates a serene environment while allowing carefully selected furnishings, artwork, and objects to feel intentional and collected over time.
The living area received a complete refresh with a newly upholstered sofa, custom coffee table, and curated decorative pieces that improve circulation and create a more welcoming social space. Throughout the apartment, a comprehensive lighting design replaced every architectural, ceiling, wall-mounted, and decorative fixture, dramatically enhancing the mood, comfort, and visual quality of the interiors from day to night.
In the bedroom, the existing architecture was elevated with a fully upholstered headboard that adds softness and warmth, while a new dedicated workspace accommodates guests who balance leisure and remote work.
The bathrooms were selectively renovated to maximize visual impact, including redesigned mirrors and carefully considered updates that modernize the spaces while respecting budget constraints.
More than a renovation, the project was an exercise in thoughtful editing. By focusing on materiality, lighting, furniture, and atmosphere, the apartment now feels intentionally collected, art-driven, and distinctly residential, offering guests an experience that feels both elevated and authentically connected to Puerto Vallarta's relaxed coastal lifestyle.
